This service commemorates Jesus’ “Last Supper” with his disciples as they celebrate Passover. This is the night that Jesus will be betrayed and denied by his closest friends. This is also the night when Jesus “instituted” what we now call the “Lord’s Supper” or “Holy Communion.” In this Sacrament, Jesus promises to give us himself for our forgiveness and new life.
